Safeguarding and Prevent are crucial in protecting vulnerable individuals from harm, abuse, and neglect. The Prevent duty requires all education providers to help prevent the risk of people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. This includes safeguarding learners from extremist ideologies and radicalisation.
Safeguarding is a vital process that protects children and adults from harm, abuse, and neglect. It is important to create comprehensive support networks to assist vulnerable people with healthcare and financial aid while upholding their standard of living and embracing their dignity.
Prevention is the most important element of safeguarding. It is far better to take steps to prevent safeguarding issues from occurring rather than dealing with the situation when they do.
In order for us to comply with the Prevent duty we must show evidence of productive co-operation, in particular with local Prevent staff, the police, and local authorities.
All staff at Leicestershire Learning Hub look out for concerning changes in behaviour and these are reported to the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) Clare Morey. Behaviours that might cause concern include those that suggest a person is being radicalised or exposed to extremist views.
